This lesson looks at what attributes are important / not important in a healthy friendship. The lesson consists of a card sort / open class discussion/debate. This interactive lesson looks at different types of domestic abuse by examining signs of unhealthy relationships. Students are encouraged to talk to each other and decide which unhealthy traits go under which type of domestic abuse. There are opportunities to extend and challenge more able students. ALL students can create an awareness poster based on what they have learned and are signposted where to access further help and support. Using mental health agencies such as TimeToChange, students explore the difference between mental health, mental illness, bust some common myths/stereotypes, encouraged to discuss issues surrounding MH/MI. Please note, some students can be sensitive towards this session. It is advised that you have access to computers so students can explore other websites independently and make notes as they go.

An interactive lesson where students work in groups to decide how the government should spend UK Taxpayer's money. Groups are presented with global/national issues which they must respond to and change their budgets - each time discussing/debating the impact their financial decisions will have on the UK.
